All you need is Love?

This is actually my first blog. I wrote it on facebook a couple months ago, but facebook sucks, so I thought I would post it here...

As i was spending ungodly amounts of time on facebook this thought crossed my mind..... in this day and age(kinda reminds me of the family matters theme song) we are universally connected and yet it seems our relationships are more shallow than ever. If you don’t understand what I mean than just take a moment and think back to the days of myspace and the verbal lashings you would receive if you didn’t immediately accept someone’s friend request. Do you see how desperate people are to be accepted? There doesn’t have to be any true form of relationships, just the shallow, watered down, new millennium lie that our culture proclaims is real, personal, connection. Now, I am new at this whole blog thing so thing so bear with my random thoughts, but as I was pondering this thought I switched gears and began to listen to the Across The Universe soundtrack, which by the way is amazing and has reignited my love for beatles songs....anyways...I was listening to....yep, you guessed it, “All you need is love”. This in turn sparked the thought that if there was any bit of Truth(Big T truth) in the immortal words of good ol’ John and Paul, according to scripture, All we need is God, since God IS love. This revalation hit me in a big way. All the loneliness, emptiness, longing, and so on can be solved with one simple thing love(God). If the answer is staring us in the face...no scratch that...SLAPPING us in the face, and if 1/5 of the world are supposedly christians why are so many people lost and searching??? I guess that is a rhetorical question, we all know why, it’s because we aren’t doing our part. can you imagine what the world would be like if we just showed Love to everyone??? If we didn’t care about what they looked like, listened too, hung out with, or even what they did? we don’t have to run out to the street corner with signs that say “be saved or burn”, all we have to do is show Christs love the best we can. So i encourage you, if you claim to be a christian, act like it. Pray, read your bible, and all that, but most importantly...show Love......peace
